I grew up in a family of visual artists and actors. As a teenager I worked in technical theater, doing scenic and lighting design, stage management, and fight choreography both at my performing arts high school and professional theaters. Professional photography began with a few favors to actor friends and through referrals from actors and agents has developed into a career and a passion.
My photographs are as much influenced by Caravaggio as by black box theatre. My travels from Budapest to Beijing and Iles des Saintes to Indonesia have given me new ways of seeing and an appreciation of the diversity of human experience that have shaped the way I photograph.
I donate $20 to Kids With Cameras for each shoot I do. It is important for me to translate my success into something bigger for the arts and our humanity.
